"Honoring Fremont County Wyoming's US Military Veterans

"We were soldiers once..........and young."

A respectful, sentimental, and loving photo documentation of Fremont County Wyoming citizens who served, and those who are presently serving, in the United States armed forces:

  • United States Air Force

  • United States Army

  • United States Coast Guard

  • United States Marine Corps

  • United States Merchant Marine

  • United States Navy

  • United States National Guard and Reserve Components

Regardless of the era or time period, there were three things we held in common that linked us together - the flag of the United States, the military uniform and our youth.  We all had unity in purpose - whether it was patrolling a remote Asian jungle, manning the ordnance on a destroyer or piloting an aircraft at 35,000 feet - to serve the interests of the nation.  This album is about those who served, not the reasoning or justification behind a conflict.

To be listed, the veteran (or active duty member) must have been a native of, or is (was) a long-time resident of Fremont County, Wyoming.  In no

case will group photos be used or those which include persons other than the veteran.  The Photo Must Be of the Veteran/Military Member in Uniform!  Preference is that the photo be from recruit basic training/boot camp, or in the case of officers, an official photo taken upon commissioning.  Each file includes photo, name, years of service, military branch, rank held at separation, and locations served.  Persons are listed by their birth name - nicknames, married or shortened versions are not used.  Some information may have been obtained from the public domain, however we prefer a next-of-kin or living descendant has initiated this honor to their loved one.  All veterans listed here (or their surviving kin) have affirmed with pride that their service was honorable.

Establishing a file is easy - it can be done by US postal mail, by e-mail or we can arrange for an in-person meeting.  If you would like to participate, or have a relative or ancestor who served, please contact us:
